This play is a reenactment of Helen Hunt Jackson during the time she was in the San Jacinto Valley. She is given the transcript of a trial of a local man named Sam Temple that takes place in San Jacinto. (This is a true story. The actual historical documented trial transcript is reenacted on the RHP stage). This is one of the actual historical incidents that Helen Hunt Jackson used in her book, “Ramona”. It brings to you the harsh reality of the time period and the passion and endurance of Helen Hunt Jackson’s quest to make a change for the better.
