Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.

Almost, Maine was not my first choice of plays to direct but it was certainly the right choice. I was hesitant at first because I am very new to directing and this play has so many moving parts. With 28 sound effects and 18 lighting cues that are needed to bring each of the 9 scenes, with 16 actors, to life you can understand why I was nervous.
I want to thank our amazing cast; you truly turned this show into 9 “magical moments” just as the author intended. I want to thank Peggy, Marve, Bret, Laura, Josh, Kim, and Stanley for working with me and cheering me on along the way. I hope you each enjoy our show!
